Leader As Coach
Today, the 5th of November, 2006 (19th Kartic, 2063)Easy Multi Trade International Network Marketing Company and their associate, Dikshya Prakashan Kendra (Training Wing) had requested NILD for a one-day leadership training for the 26 Senior Sales Leaders coming from different regions of nepal-Butwal, hetauda, Morang, Parbat, and Kathmandu. The program was centered on \"Leader As Coach\"-inviting the Senior Sales Leaders to opt for the role of a Coach so as to help maximize the potential of their downliners and enable them to become great leaders too. We also had them see what is the role of a leader and how does it differ from that of a coach; what is the essence of coaching; and how communication (Questioning) is the only tool of a coach in coaching the people that come for his or her services. Also that the coach is not a teacher, problem solver, advisor. Instead, a coach is a counselor, sounding board, facilitator, and an awareness raiser. The peak of realization was that if a coach can help a player to remove or reduce the intgernal obstacles to their perofrmances, an expected natural ability will flow from within. And true coaching is unlocking a person\'s potential to maximize their own performance. It;s helping them to learn than teaching. The course was a highly interactive one in which most of the participants could learn and equally benefit by becoming clear the distinction that a coach is.
