Our Profession-Our Pride (Empowering Teachers) Personal Growth ProgramProgram exclusively designed for Teachers
EDP # 5 Our Profession: Our Pride
(A 3-Day The Quality School Teachers' Training Workshop)
Objectives
The purpose of this workshop is to enable teachers to recognize their students and, using these ideas, discover effective ways to help them become involved and feel included. And by the end of first year, school/ college can become a joyful, connecting place both for the teachers and the students who will learn and many more will gain competence.
• This workshop is designed exclusively for teachers who are trying to abandon the old system of boss-managing, which is effective for leas than half of all students.
• To have the teachers realize that only through lead-management can teachers create classrooms in which all students not only do competent work but also begin to do quality work.
• To have the teachers acknowledge that hey must first establish warm, totally noncoercive relationships with their students; teach only useful material, which means stressing skills rather than asking students to memorize information, and move from teaching –evaluation to student-evaluation.
